Maria Umbert, Global Head of Corporate Communication at Meliá Hotels International during the last ten years, leads the group’s internal and external communication, dealing with all the financial and business areas, as well as with the various areas impacting Meliá’s reputation, making the company  a benchmark in responsible tourism development. As a company present in 43 countries, she also coordinates an external international public relations team that provides support in the company’s main destinations and source markets, and coordinates institutional relations in various communication channels reaching stakeholders and outer networks. Before joining Meliá, she was General Manager of the Regional TV & Radio of the Balearic Islands, Spain, and held various public positions in the State Administration.
