Bartomeu Jaume Serra Cifre holds a degree in physical sciences specializing in electronics from the University of Navarra in 1976. He graduated from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in 1984 Professor of computer sciences and artificial intelligence. Since 1979 he has been a professor at the University of the Balearic Islands. Since 1985, he has been director of the Computing and Computerization Service of the UIB. He has been a member of the governing board of the Municipal Computer Institute of the City Council of Palma. He has published various articles in specialized journals on networks and communication infrastructures. He created SmartUIB http://smart.uib.es, an institutional project of the University of the Balearic Islands. This initiative of innovation, framed in the Government policy of innovation and transfer, the university efficiency is to improve by developing smart technologies that can be transferred to society. -Framework agreement for scientific-technological collaboration with the CENER-CIEMAT Foundation
