Sandy Hemingway FRIENDS OF THE EARTH MALLORCA, Spain
Sandy Hemingway has been an environmental activist of Friends of the Earth for more than 30 years. She has been a board-member of Friends of the Earth International and Chair of Friends of the Earth Spain. She organized the first conference on Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean that took place in Mallorca in 1993 on behalf of Friends of the Earth International. Since then she has participated in many conferences and workshops on tourism and the environment. British by birth but now a Spanish national, she dedicates her time as a volunteer to Friends of the Earth Mallorca tackling problems such as overuse of local resources, cruise ship pollution and the conservation of the Serra de Tramuntana.
